Maybe he has the cash to pay the credit card bill when it comes? Some of us actually do that.
I tend to just use the card over the phone/web, in person a check has no processing fee.
ask if paying cash, the fees that are not paid to the bank to process the card
might be a credit towards an accessory purchase, at point of sale.
shaving off that small % would help some..
