No "favorite" encounters yet, but my first real on-bike encounter was this morning: A $127 ticket for rolling through a stop-sign on my morning commute

I was on a bike-only path, and there's a place where it crosses a (very unbusy) road, and there's a stop sign there. I could've sworn it used to be a yield sign, but whatever, it was clearly a stop sign today. This is the only place on my whole commute where the bikepath actually intersects a road, everywhere else the path goes under the road. I was pulling around this sorority girl on a beat up cruiser wearing flipflops, and didn't pause long enough for the liking of this officer standing there watching. I should've seen him well before, but I was too busy trying to get past this girl.

Apparently I can take a one-hour course to get it dismissed and only have to pay a $35 fee without having to go to court, so I'm trying to figure out where I have to go to do that now. Not a huge deal it turns out, as long as I don't get another moving violation in the next year, still just sucks.

One of my friends said I should've just kept riding, as the guy wouldn't have caught me on foot vs. my bike, and his squad car wouldn't have fit down the bikepath at all...but I'm sure he would've spotted me around campus at some point in the future anyway.
