Most of the time I move to the left side of the lane if I feel safe doing that.

If somebody is right behind me when i get to the light i'll
maybe move to the left - never right. Otherwise
too bad, wait your turn. If the lane is really wide(more than 3ft distance between vehicles) i'll leave enough space for somebody to safely turn right. But you have to be careful of two things when moving too far to the left.
#1 is impatient right turner on red, he will come up and dangerously squeeze by you, 1mm at a time, maybe run over your foot or use his car to push you, maybe drive up on the curb to get by you. Leave no doubt in his mind he can't get by you.
#2 is fast and furious driver who will drive around you and then position themselves in front of you or pass you at top-speed on the right in the middle of an intersection.
