+1 to all this. I would also add, dont give up if your butt starts hurting at 30mi. On my first long ride, my butt really started hurting a few hours in and I was thinking "there is no way I'm going to make this", but it hit a point where it really hurt, but the pain leveled off - it didn't keep getting worse and worse. I was really sore, but I continued riding for two more days. A couple of days of recovery after the ride and I was walking normally again
