Conti tires with "2000" in the name are mid to late 90's. That was the "millennium" marketing that was popular back then.

Like I pointed out in your Miyata thread my 98 T700 has Top Touring 2000's as the factory tire. In 99 as the Melinium approached you will see a lot of tires that have "3000".
Id ride them. they don't look bad at all.
