Yes it will goof with the design of the bike, but you can easily check it out if your front fork will accomodate a 26" rim. (Obviously you will need to take off or otherwise disable the brake but if the 26" rim with tire has the clearance then you can give it a try). If you think the geometry is OK with the 26" wheel, then all you really need is a 650c front fork which you can get on ebay for $25 for an aluminum (might be hard to find a threaded one though if that is what you need.).
