Personally, I don't see myself buying a new bike. There are so many lightly used bikes on CL in my area that can be had at extremely discounted prices.

A few weeks ago I saw an 09 Orbea Orca with 6700 group for $2,000. New, that bike would run around $5,000. To me it's the same idea as buying a new car. Unless you are completely debt free other than your mortgage, it is not a good financial decision to buy a brand new car.
