105 is a great set up, no issues at all.

I compromised on groupset to get a better frame and wheels. I "settled" for Ultegra SL.
Last year I "took the leap" and replaced it all with a Red/ Force mix, after about 800 miles I went back to the SL.

Agree; SL is beautiful and can be picked up for less than 5700 (about $650. shipped).
As for 5700/6700, can't comment on how they perform, but PCad seems to be
in love with his 6700 and it is wayyy closer to 7900 than 5700 is to 6700.
From what I've read, there's a noticeable leap from 5700 to 6700 and not much up to 7900.
While it might cost a little more, I'd say Ultegra will outlast 105 by years and
the Ultegra will perform at Dura Ace level. But ultimately, it's your money and
personally, I see nothing wrong with going with 105 on your bike.
From what I see in a quick search, the jump to Ultegra is only $250. more than 105.
