When I raced back in the Southeast in the early-mid 80's, there was a team that rode pink DeRosa bikes. At the first race I ever did (in Columbia SC) they pulled up in a pink 60-something Cadillac (one with the big fins on the back), got out wearing their pink kits, and unloaded those pink DeRosas. I thought it was pretty damn funny.

Of course, they then proceeded to dominate the CAT races they were in.

I rode in the "Citizens" race. I remember having to borrow gloves and a jersey because mine had this really cool multi-colored stripe on them, and since I wasn't a current or former world champion, I wasn't allowed to wear them in my race. That and watching some guy snap his arm in half at the bottom of a hill when he took a turn wide were the most memorable moments. For the record, I came in 14th out of 50-something riders.
