I think it depends on the PCer. I'd recommend finding a better one and seeing some of his/her work before deciding.

I had my wife's Super Sport PCed and I thought it turned out very nice. Certainly it is not a Dr.Deltron paint job, but it is good. This was confirmed by ftwelder (who knows quite a bit about a frame finish) when he looked at it. He felt it was as good if not better than your mid range paint job. It certainly will be more durable.



I paid about $165 for this frame to be PCed, which is more than I heard many had spent (about $100). I'd say the up-charge was worth it.
