Glad your friend is ok. It could have been much worse.

A lot of threads and conversation mention SUV's I have noticed.

In the close calls I have had there are a few common traits. Young person (mother or dad) in a SUV with cell phone in ear and one to two kids in the car. If you see this combination give wide birth. If they just pulled away from a fast food drive thru just stop and let them move on. I have identified this combination the most dangerous but just below the drunk driver which is totally non predictable.
