There is a 400k Brevet in the spring that I am considering. My last bike ride was 250k on a very flat course in November, and I have not ridden since. As the winters here are pretty rough, I will likely not get a chance to ride until Feb when I have a five-seven day bike tour planned. I have been running all winter to keep myself in shape (25km+ long runs, mountains, etc.), but my butt has spent most of its time enjoying a leather sofa, not the awkward contours of my outdated bike saddle. I hope to be able to get into a regular riding rhythm in March, but it is still cold enough that it could snow a few days and throw those plans out.

With only a few weeks training, is it ridiculous to think about a 400k ride? Any help, experience, etc. would be appreciated. I have never considered doing such a big ride without a lot of prep before...
Get a trainer, put your bike on it and start riding. Your butt will thank you.
