Bikes: too many or not enough

Final pictures for today - 68 Geoffrey Butler

Last picture set for today. My 1968 or thereabouts Geoffrey Butler. This is a pretty plain bike but it is my only English bike and I have a certain fondness for it. Very simple, no chrome, no fancy paint. I can imagine some grimy craftsmen building it in a shop that looks more like a blacksmith shop than a bike factory. In case you don't know Geoffrey Butler is a fairly famous bike shop in England. They put out pretty nice bikes, especially the early ones, under their shop name. The bikes were built by a variety of builders. This bike is a little special as it has the very first gen Nuovo Record derailleurs front and rear (rear has only PATENT no date on it and front has long cable stop tang on mounting bracket). Next week or so I hope to have pictures of my 1970 Peugeot PX10.
