Hi Senisbs, You were asking the serial of my Bottecchia, but an error occured when I tried to send privat message so I am sending it here.
Finally I could check the serial on my Bottecchia, but I got to be really surprised that I found only two digits there. As far as I know it should be in the format TTT NNNN NN, where TTT - tubing used, NNNN - 80s serial number, NN - size of the frame.
So from these I found only the last two digits I guess, because the visible number is 57.

Do you have some idea or experiements whay I do not see any other information? I tried to analyse the paint on the bike and aske dI friend of mine who works in a car re-paint company, he also said that most probably the bike was not repainted. So he suggest that the missing numbers are not covered by any home made solution, they are originally missing.
