While slowly grinding up the 10% gradient into one of those Italian hill towns, a little old lady who was sweeping her balcony shouted out at me, "Better to just get off and walk!" in Italian, of course. Since my Italian is bad, I just smiled, waved and continued. Translating took a while, but it took my mind off the climb.
