Bikes: 2003 Kona Dawg Primo, HH Racing LS1 BMX (custom fabricated), Schwinn commuter (circa 1979), Schwinn BMX racer (circa 2002)

Thinking of taking this across country but not in the traditional sense of the trek. Won't be in the saddle more than 4-5 days a week. Gonna zig zag the states and see/do as much as I can. Excited for pavement as much as I am dirt/gravel. Can't see how it would be any slower than a Big Dummy (www.jessesteiner.com is my hero). Concerned with the short headtube keeping my...dare I say drop...bars low. and the short wheelbase and chainstay. Any thoughts on how stable it will be?
This is what I imagine the bike might look like with drop bars! Now lets just see if Surly will give you that much steerer tube!
