Tightening Brake on Carbon Rear Triangle

I have a 2007 Fuji Roubaix Pro which has carbon seat stays. My rear brake is loose, and because of this the cable housing is pushing one of the arms down and in to the wheel causing it to rub. I want to tighten the caliper where it attaches to the frame but am concerned about it being carbon fiber. Tektro installation instruction say to tighten this to 8-10 N-m. Is there a chance that this will damage the rear triangle because it is carbon fiber?

Also, is there something else I should be doing (i.e. adjusting the cable and housing length) in order to prevent this from happening?

Thanks in advance.
