What's wrong with 5 & 6 speed clusters??
I'll be the first to admit I've got a lot to learn about bike & gearing
but one point is just buggin' me no end.
I like the older 5 & 6 speed clusters due to the lack of wheel dishing
added to the fact that 8>9>10 speed clusters seem like serious overkill
in real life. How many folk's really USE more than 5 > 6 of all those
gears anyway?? Now, I'm talking average riders not gearheads that can
tell you what each ratio is. Ordinary folk's......
Heck, manufactures don't even make this old tried and true stuff anymore.
I'd guess it's to make the public feel as if what they ride is "old Hat' to sell'm
a new bike they don't really need.
Since this is a general question what's wrong with 5 speed & 6 speed clusters
and the bikes they were used on anyway.
Would you buy a bike with this few gears if available********************
