Fasten 4x4's with hooks to a board, and attach the board to the ceiling. You'll want the length of the 4x4's to be such that the bike just clears your head when you walk under it.
That's the system for the bike on the right.
The bike on the left has an adjustable height setup. I made that before I realized that I'd never need to adjust the height.
That looks pretty simple. I have an area over my stair case for the winter storage of bikes already but it is tough to get to. I could do something like that on the edge of my steps and would be out of everyone's way.
