Telling people they can't do tricks because they have "the wrong kind of bike" is close-minded.

But then asking them to look at it "from a skateboard perspective"?



How quickly we forget... (Then again maybe y'all weren't around back when street skating "wuz invented", so you can beg for a pass.)

"Hey dude stop trying freestyle tricks on your ramp board! It's too big. You need to get a 'freestyle' board for that! You are not proper!11010111!"




Street skating evolved as people took freestyle tricks and did them on 10x30 boards. The board designs eventually changed into the hybrid we ride street with today. Likewise today we are seeing bike frames evolve in similar ways as kids do tricks with the "wrong" kind of bike, and frame builders add designs to meet their needs.

That's what I see when I look at it from a skateboard perspective.
