Bikes: 40 Columbia, 71 Sears 3 speed, 74 Columbia 3 speed, 89 Schwinn World, 89 Schwinn Caliente, 02 Sun Retro Classic

The pedals are wasted, as is the seat - the post is still okay. Everything else you listed is still good.

The way it sits, all I NEED to purchase is wheels/tires/tubes. I think I can salvage the chain. I can remove the link I cut to get it off the bike, and put in a removable link. I have spare pedals and seats in my attic from old mountain bikes, that I can use in the mean time until I can get a more correct looking style.

I'm going to do some pricing on the wheels. Check a few places for prices on brand new wheels, and also about getting the originals re-spoked. I would like for the bike to have white wheels, so if I can get the originals respoked, I could sand blast them and paint them, but I'm not holding my breath.

I had to get a wheel repaired fro my '89 Schwinn World last summer. It was bent and had a broken spoke. The actual Schwinn dealer that my dad bought the bike from in 1990 said it was not repairable. I took it to another bike shop and they said it was no problem to fix it and it's as good as new. Cost me 16 bucks to fix it. $15 for the labor and a dollar for the spoke LOL. So, it may be WAY too much to get the originals respoked. I guess we'll have to wait and see!!
