Fortunately pixels are a poor conveyor of sarcasm, so you're most welcome, Bama!
I'm glad you had a great time and that our drivers were courteous.
I had a great time the last time I was in TN too, (but I was on a cross-country motorcycle trip, not on bicycles.) The weather was mild, the roads were idyllic, and there appeared to be a state-wide yard sale going on. My ex-wife and I got pulled over by a nice policeman, but even though we were riding together, he only gave HER a ticket, (apparently forgot to give me mine. It was great!)

Also I remember the crazy creeper vines you guys have in your state. They apparently grow and eventually engulf entire forests, killing the trees beneath them. In some places we rode past, the forest looked like a frozen snapshot of a gazelle-tree hopeless fleeing a voracious creeper-vine lion.

Central Coastal California is indeed pretty. I can enthusiastically recommend San Luis Obispo, which is one of the most bicycle-friendly towns this side of Portland.

Peace & safe riding!
