+1. Rod brakes routed through the stem and steerer tube? I've never heard of such a thing before.
That is only half of it. On the bikes I posted the brake pads are integrated into the fork blades and chainstays. The rear brake mechanism is fully integrated inside the frame. Look carefully at the pictures.
