I've never fully understood the lure of Bristol race. The track is so small that the cars can't go very fast.
It's not about the top speed, it's the close-up racing and the almost-wrecks every ten seconds all around the track. That and pit stops are absolutely nuts as losing a second puts you back 10+ places and then you have to drive like Jen in Jacksonville traffic to get back to the front. The banking is 36 degrees. The G-forces and August heat wear the drivers down to the point that some of them are hospitalized with heat stroke. Now that's racin'.
