Hi I see this is an older post but I have a couple of questions that you members may have an opinion on. I live in Maplewood too and have done for just over a year. I bike to Maplewood station then take NJ transit and the subway to soho. I have been looking at ways to bike more and was considering the bike to Newark broad st or Newark Penn to get in a few more miles. From the previous posts it looks like this may slightly lengthen my commute but thats ok if I get some more exercise.
My dilemma is whether to get a folding bike or not. I looked into to leaving my current bike at broad st and it didn't seem that safe. It seems that Newark Penn is also an option, is that more secure? If so it would save me buying a folder. But.... With a folder I could continue my commute in the city which would be good. Any opinions on the bike security issue or folder over conventional bike?
