Just got my derailuers adjusted by Performance last night. Sure it is something I should be able to do myself but I don't know how and haven't had the patience to properly learn. Anyhow they were $19 for the pair, the LBS wanted $55....so for me it was a no brainer. I figure if the adjustment doesn't go right then I will take it back and they can either make it right or refund the difference.

The closest LBS to me is like this too though. They quoted me $60 to cut a steerer tube and place a star nut. I now do all that on my own.
Of course, I've probably spent more on extra tools than I would have if I just went, but that will pay off over time.
