Veblen Bikes, Cars, watches
Many people, as my Dad used to say "more money than sense" pay higher prices for Bikes, cars, watches, etc to buy something with more "status" than a similiar item. A Trek, instead of a Fuji...a Lexus instead of a Toyota....Rolex instead of Sieko
"Veblen goods are a group of commodities for which people's preference for buying them increases as a direct function of their price, as greater price confers greater status, instead of decreasing according to the law of demand".
My question is, do any of the Engineers out there buy "status" bikes, cars, etc?
