Journalist turned media manager turned sports and rec administrator turned tourism business operator turned local government officer turned orchard hand turned local government parks and gardens labourer.

I've learned something all along the way, and in particular that I like outdoors work. It keeps me much fitter than I otherwise would be.

When I worked the orchards for around four years, I'd commute by bike and then ride regularly after work up to 40km. On weekends, my shopping round trip was 50km by bike. I didn't own a vehicle. Sometimes it was a battle to get on the bikes, but you get over it.

So right now, I am blue collar. But paid quite well for being so. And my priorities are quite simple -- cycle and tour.
