Anywhere North and East of Bayview/Elgin Mills will get you rural/farmland area. Another fast way out of the city is north on Keeles, north of highway 7.

From there you can go to Musslemen Lake.. Mount Albert. Stop in Goodwood. Whatever you want.
Excellent suggestions. Mussleman Lake is a great area.

I live at Bathurst and Bloomington, in Aurora. Great country roads wherever I go.

East to Mussleman Lake and beyond, West through King City and Maple, then North through Newmarket and into the Holland Landing Marsh area.

Favorite road is Weston Road. Hilly through King City (though not as hilly as my Angels Crest ride ), then East on Aurora Road/St John's Sideroad. Quiet riding for miles.

I've even taken Aurora Road West all the way to Caledon for my local metric century ride.

googlemaps is a great way to find new routes. Click the Satellite option to see an actual satellite image of the roads. You get a good idea of whether it's a busy road or a quite country road.
