Here is a temporary bike I built for my girlfriend. I am in the process of trying to unload it right now. It's 1x7 friction, 26 in wheel, short person touring bike (you can see by the length of seatpost showing... I'm 5'4 and that's at a good height for me...). Really fun project and a suuuuuper cushy ride. The front derailleur is merely acting as a chain catcher. This setup doesn't like bumps and sudden wide changes in gears.

I forget how nice it is to ride on an MTB/Touring frame with really wide tires. Riding over bumps doesn't feel like getting kicked in the nuts.
