Felt Z Series, F Series, or other question (with a twist)

Hey guys,

I apologize for my first post being a question, but I'm having a dilemma and thought you guys could help me out. I'm looking to buy my first road bike, and have visited a few bike shops in the area (Austin area), and have settled upon a shop that sells Felt and Scott primarily. The shop has a great reputation, is very low pressure, and overall really helpful. So far I have gotten fit for a Felt Z series, and a 56 cm Z85 was within my budget and looked to have a good set of features for the price. I was ready to test ride the bike (I was on a 56 cm Z6 which is out of my price range), but the bike wasn't in stock at the store. Felt is supposedly out of 56 cm Z85 for a few more weeks.

Therein lies my dilemma. The shop has a F85 in my size in stock, so I can either wait or go ahead and try the F85. Problem is I don't have much to compare it to. I think that the best option is for me to wait and try both (hoping the F85 stays in stock), and pick from the two.

Like stated earlier, though, I don't have much experience with biking. I would try to test it for comfort, but don't know if I would be biased towards one geometry now and then grow out of it later (since I have limited experience on a road bike). I'm 19 years old and in good shape, if that changes anything.

So, in summary, any ideas on the F85 vs. the Z85? Is trying the Z worth the wait? Sorry to be so long winded I'm just eager to get cycling!
