Actually, the Avid levers have enough adjustment that they work fine with "regular" pull calipers when set at their minimum pull/maximum leverage position. I have them on two recumbents with one caliper and one V-brake each. They work fine.

Xeno: the newer Avid levers are 2.5 finger-ish. I have a set of older Avid 2.0 levers, and they're closer to 3.5 fingers. Not super-long, but they work well with my Magilla Gorilla hands.
