Poor College Kids RR - Beulton, CA - 68 miles

Ingredients for race FAIL:
- Catch a cold 3 days before race
- Drive RV up the night before only to have it break down 10 miles from destination at 10pm. Wait 2 hours for tow.
- After much searching find hotel for family & dogs 35 miles in the opposite direction
- Stay night in hotel's "non-smoking" room approved for dogs. (Room is made non-smoking by placing "non-smoking" sign in stanky smoke infused room)
- Get to race on time but spend too much time talking with friends to warm up. (why bother? Its' a RR right? Plenty of time to warm up )
- Line up with your stressed out, tired, day quil'd, smoke & mucus infused, cold, asthmatic lungs
* Race 20 minutes. Get dropped. Complete 1 lap with other dropped riders.
(As a consolation umd's data from the race shows the first 20 minutes were the hardest. oh well. lessons learned.)

I found a nicer hotel for the next night and did 2 races at the Mothballs crit the next day back to back. The legs & lungs still weren't at 100% but I finished both and got some good training out of it.
