Sorry for no update. I have actually run into a bit of a wall (though I am almost over it). In a grueling attempt to save the original paint, I messed it up. I spent three days very carefully removing the old decals that had turned brittle and slid around. After that I began touching up the paint with a extremely similar color from toyota and then blending it into the surrounding paint via wet sanding and then buffing. On maybe my twentieth chip I sanded through a large patch of the original paint down to the primer. This paint is surprisingly thin... No worries, it is in the process of being repainted now.
