I think those BikesDirect Fens cost $700 shipped. I have an earlier blue one that I'm just now replacing the wheels on and want to get a compact crank to replace the triple. They really ride smoothly.
My fens still weighs in at just under 22 lbs with it race ready (No bottles, no saddle bag, etc). Definitely not the lightest bike but it gets the job done. I will most likely upgrade at the end of the season. If I could drop 5 lbs on the bike, that would help a ton (since I weigh 140lbs and can't really lose much more). At least I got it looking somewhat good though.
