If you like the gear, just rotate the tire a link or two every once in awhile.

It's lot that hard to find out how many skid spots you get. Just keep dividing the two numbers of teeth until you can't anymore to figure out what ratio you have. For example, you have a 3 to 1 ratio, which I think means one skid spot (two if you skid with your feet both ways).

As you can see, prime numbers are good.
