If you are in doubt about the product you are using, use the 800 number on the Label and call the manufacturer. Tell them you want to talk to someone that will give you the pH of the product you are using. In most cases they won't be able to help you but they will give you a number to call that will. All companies producing chemicals must make available on request a statement of the contents. On that sheet the pH will be listed.
Wow, Booger1 -- we asked what time it was, and you provided quite the treatise on clock manufacturing. I guess the snippet quoted here applies beyond fullers and felters to us wearers and launderers.

Checking the interweb:
  • Woolite pH 7.5-8.5 per its MSDS (for Woolite Complete at link, same for Extra Delicate)
  • Dr. Bronner's peppermint pH 9.0 per its MSDS
To an argumentative git (who, me?), it might appear Dr. Bronner's is actually more alkaline than Woolite. But to this non-chemist, that's close to a wash. I think all our clothes are safe.

Upside of this thread -- if any of us ever run into thenomad in person, he may now have that April fresh scent.
