This is where I come down as well. Praying to the weight god is silly when its the highest priority. Sure weight matters but even a heavy carbon handlebar when it is your attachment to the bike...as with the saddle...shouldn't be a primary concern unless an elite racer which none of us are. Ergonomics + vibration damping is why this bar exists...and 2 oz of weight is nebulous.

Some (when they respond to a thread on what I call a "personal" item) respond imposing their own standards/wants/needs.
I built my bike for speed over rough roads and for comfort that would not tax my body without sacrificing a "feel" for the road.
That's what "I" wanted. I've read many posts of those who've gone from good quality carbon bars to good quality aluminum
and have been very happy with the kind of riding they do. And that's 100% okay too. If I were building a crit bike, it'd be all aluminum.
