They expressed their feelings with relatively civilized comments. People were pretty mellow in SoCal back then, which is very cool. In New York it was, as Axl Rose would put it, "welcome to the jungle, baby". The tire tracks across our backs weren't necessarily T-shirt graphics back in those days.
