You should watch Portlandia. People think it is an exaggeration or a type of caricature of Portland. It's pretty close to reality.
Except Portlanders drink copious amounts of beer, all the hipsters smoke (and this town has no short supply of hipsters), and they drink gallons of coffee, really really good coffee. Also, no sweets? Go to Voodoo doughnut on a Saturday evening, plenty oh sweets being eaten then.
Hmm, now I want to go to PDX so I can get a couple of pints of Hopworks IPA, then go for a cup of Stumptown coffee after stopping by Voodoo Doughnut for a Bacon Maple Bar. Then I'd go watch the hipsters play bike polo whilst smoking cheap cigarettes.
