It's less fine that some riders choose to be total jackasses on the subject. I pity your friends if any and families.
Using the same logic, you should also pity the friends and families of people who walk down sidewalks and up/down flights of steps without a helmet -- since the risk of head injury is the same.
I know it's easier to reach into your mind and just state something knee-jerk -- but you owe it to yourself to read about what helmets are designed and are capable of doing....which is almost nothing.
