Saw literaly hundreds of double bottle cages with aluminum bidons when I was a kid growing up in Belgium in the 1930s-40s.
Used double hb mounted TA cages on my Peugeot PX-10 in the 70s.
Still use hb mounted bottle cage on my c/f tandem and single bike.
