I first noticed the importance of balance in performance from working with tools.
A tool that might feel heavy when not in use, but it becomes light when being used for what it was intended for.
Gee, I ride with a 1000 gram rear Powertap wheel and 600 gram front wheel. I have no problems.
It's not like the wheels are next to each other. They are front and back. Wheel weight doesn't cause an issue in terms of cornering, handling or performance..
