Ran by West Maui Cycles to check out the rentals and they look pretty sweet. Cannondale Six and I am pretty sure it was all carbon, shifters were Ultegra and I assume the rest of the components were too. I brought my saddle and pedals and Garmin and everything to put on there. They said the gears are a compact in the front and something like a 12-27 in the back. Should be fine for getting up the mountain. Now tomorrow I just have to refrain from drinking Mai Tai's like I did today and get fueled up for the ride and then Saturday it's off to the House of the Sun. I can't stop looking up at the shiny observatory on the top of the volcano as I wander around the island. Can't wait to try this! Hope the weather is as good Saturday as it was today.
