Hey There....I live in Richmond and know those roads well.....I'll tell you route 10 and Jeff Davis Hwy are gonna kinda suck....but there dosen't seem to be anything you can do to travel between your place and JTCC....I think you have the right idea trying to stay on backroads but I think that you may find the last part of your commute to JTCC you may just stay on Route 1 anyway due to time/ the fact that your already having to travel Jeff Davis and compete with autos there anyhow....good luck on your commute and check out my blog on bike commuting in Richmond.
