While I do much prefer the last one you posted, the rack above isn't entirely bad. Better than some of the wheel benders. They have them all over the place on Auraraia campus. If the end is free, I'll lean my bike against it and lock it to the end, otherwise I simply park my backwards to get the frame locked. I do wish they weren't standard on campus though.
