Getting from Slidell to Metairie would be interesting. You would have to go up Chef Hwy (make sure the bridges are open!) Riding through NO east on Chef is not a good idea, but I don't see an alternative without adding lots of miles.
I can go either way. I live in Hammond and have family in the Marigny.

I've never been over on Chef Hwy so that may be a problem
