From looking at the two bikes on their website it seems to me the two frames are exactly the same except the color.

The front fork is different as you said.
I dunno but if you don't like the "big old six" that will haunt you imo. The color of my bike does me, I wanted black but got blue. LBS said Cannondale was having problems and they offered me an upgrade sorta. I love my bike but.......
