As a fellow VO fan, you might find this neat - I think Velocult is eventually releasing their own Nobilette custom-made constructeur in the style of Rene Hearse, built completely around VO parts and Honjo fenders. Skye had shown it to me in the shop, and it looked gorgeous.

Although it wasn't really done as a tribute, it just evolved into a bike very similar to a LHT.
This is awesome - I should've named this thread "bike transformations" instead, I think that's a bit more of what I'm looking for. I've dreamed of doing the same with an old MTB, but haven't yet found one with just the right geometry.
