it sounds like the bike needs some adjustments to me. go back and explain what you noticed to their mechanic have him adjust the bike then ride it again. the rival shifters should shift like your red shifters in the front since they both have the zero loss system up front (red also has zero loss in the rear).
I'm planning to do just that this weekend, now that I am armed with some of the info above. Keep in mind though, that my Transition has bar-end shifters on it, not the Red double tap shifters. Thanks for all of the input.
